Herdez Salsa Ranchera - Ranch Style Sauce

If you don't have the privileged of being married to a Mexican woman that can recreate centuries old traditional recipes handed down for mother to daughter; from grand-mother to grand-daughter.

You can at least buy a can of Herdez Salsa Ranchera. This is the quinticential Mexican salsa in a can. Not the snack salsa, but the meal salsa. The one that goes on your eggs in the morning, and on your fajitas at night.

This is the type of salsa that would takean entire day of grinding in a molcajete (stone mortar and pestel). Some friends might says it goes with everything. I know people that would venture to use it as dip with corn chips. I however believe that this salsa it too good to use as a snack salsa. This is ground from "chile del arbol" or chili of the tree. I'm sure it has vinegar and other spices, however I belive that the only thing that would make it a perfect chili would be a bit of garlic ground into the sauce.

Tip: Stick a tooth of garlic or two in the blender with this salsa or an amazing flavor. Especially if you have time to let it sit in the fridge a day or two for the flavors to blend.
